The Last Tier War

From SmashWiki, the Super Smash Bros. wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

The Last Tier War is an on-going SSBM video series by SuperDoodleMan. Its trailer depicts a split between high tier and low tier characters, with the high tier characters being all of the top three tiers except Mario and Ganondorf who are grouped with the lower tiers. The Middle tier characters are also subserviant to the higher ones, with Fox, widely agreed to be the best character in Melee, as the upper tier's boss. SuperDoodleMan uses his message board to recruit assistants to this project.

One episode has been released so far, in two parts found on YouTube. These are not two separate episodes.

Surprisingly, Mewtwo is not mentioned or seen in the first episode, despite being the worst on the tier list. The Ice Climbers are also not mentioned and Link is not shown, but is mentioned many times. People have complained that the series has ended, however on the forums production still continues.

SPOILER WARNING

The story begins with Ness meeting with Mr. Game and Watch and Pichu at the Hyrule Temple stage. They begin to play “The Floor is Lava,” until Zelda shows up. After a short-lived discussion about Sheik and the tier list, the three ask Zelda to play with them. However, after a few minutes, Marth and Samus show up and tell “Sheik” that it’s time for practice. Zelda transforms into Sheik and walks off with Marth and Samus.

The second scene portrays Kirby and Bowser in the Mushroom Kingdom stage, discussing the new tier list. Bowser seems quite despaired at still being very low on the tier list until Kirby reassures him. After he does, Yoshi shows up with a Metal Box that Bowser grabs, and the three begin to play Terminator. After a few minutes, Young Link shows up, and asks if he can play. Kirby asks where Link is and leaves Young Link to play with Yoshi and Bowser.

The next scene shows Pikachu and Pichu walking through the Mushroom Kingdom II stage, discussing an earlier match that Pikachu had with an unnamed character. They see Roy practicing his Counter with Donkey Kong, and, after a short conversation with Roy, continue through to Onett. After an awkward conversation with Peach and Captain Falcon, the two suddenly meet Kirby, who asks where Link is. After they respond that they don’t know, Kirby calls over to Roy, and the four gather in the center of the stage. After a discussion about Link, Pikachu and Pichu continue into the Mushroom Kingdom stage while Roy goes back to the Mushroom Kingdom II stage. Kirby grabs a Warpstar and flies off.

Pikachu and Pichu arrive in the Mushroom Kingdom. Yoshi walks off and Young Link begins to play “Parasol” with Pikachu in Pichu, by grabbing a Parasol and proceeding to hit them with it.

The next scene shows Mario and Luigi having a discussion about Mario’s voice. Luigi suddenly hears something, and Kirby suddenly hits Mario with his Warpstar, sending him flying. Luigi walks off before Kirby can ask him about Link, and Mario responds. After Kirby asks Mario if he’s seen Link, Mario responds that he saw Jigglypuff, and she said she had business with Link. The two run off to find her.

The two find Jigglypuff and Dr. Mario in the Dream Land stage, and Jigglypuff runs off to Mute City at Dr. Mario’s orders. Mario and Kirby pursue, and Dr. Mario stays behind after attempting to slow the two.

In Mute City, Kirby asks Jigglypuff if she knows where Link is. She acts suspiciously, and Kirby has Mario follow her.

Kirby rejoins with Pikachu and Pichu in the Mushroom Kingdom stage. He asks where Young Link is, and Pichu notes that Dr. Mario walked off with him. Roy shows up and asks if the three have seen Donkey Kong. He then joins in the search to find Link. As the four discuss the situation, Kirby realizes that he needs to warn Mario of Jigglypuff. He attempts to find a Warpstar, and one materializes right by Pikachu. Kirby jumps over to the Warpstar and tells the other three characters to gather everyone they can and meet in the Hyrule Temple stage. Roy notes that the high tiers won’t help. Pikachu tells Pichu and Roy where to search, and Kirby flies off. Roy, Pikachu, and Pichu all spread out to search for Jigglypuff.

The next scene shows Ganondorf attempting to break his Home Run Contest record (as Peach had noted before). He is interrupted by Kirby crashing into him, as he had Mario. Kirby asks Ganondorf if he’s seen Jigglypuff, which leads into a comical scene of Ganondorf daydreaming about his love of Jigglypuff. After it’s obvious that Ganondorf hadn’t seen Jigglypuff, Kirby attempts to leave, but Ganondorf stops him, as he is now Sandbag-less. He begins to practice his bat drops on Kirby.

Pichu enters Yoshi's Story, and denotes that the stage is empty, until Mr. Game and Watch shows up and tells Pichu how Jigglypuff suddenly attacked Mario. Mario almost got away, but then Falco appeared, and the two took Mario west, toward Hyrule Temple. Pichu realizes that the two will be boxed in when the other gathered characters show up, and the two run off. Bowser joins the two as they run through the Peach’s Castle stage, and Roy is seen with Ness as the two enter the Fountain of Dreams stage. Luigi joins the two, and they all enter the Hyrule Temple stage, just as Falco and Jigglypuff reach the middle of the stage with Mario.

Boxed in, Falco makes a desperate attempt to escape, knocking Ness aside and keeping Roy at bay with his blaster as Jigglypuff tangles with Luigi, Mr. Game and Watch, Pichu, and Bowser. Bowser manages to grab Jigglypuff as Falco escapes, and Luigi demands to know where his brother is being taken. Jigglypuff notes that she heard something over Falco’s radio about “moving on the big rat.” Pichu realizes that she’s talking about Pikachu, and races off to Dream Land, where Pikachu said he’d be.

He arrives too late. Yoshi, battered and beaten, tells Pichu that Shiek took Pikachu away. Fox suddenly shows up and has a brief fight with Pichu, defeating him effortlessly. Fox walks away, and Yoshi and Pichu go back to Hyrule Temple. When they arrive, Pichu walks up to Jigglypuff, still being held captive, and tells her to “start talking.”
