Koop, known on SWF as Koop88 and more closely as Sam, is a recently acquired member to the British crew SDB and living proof of the sense of change from old to new in the smash community. After only having brief second hand encounters with competitive melee over the past few years, Sam traveled to several places around the world and found that the moment he returned it was necessary to buy SSBB (keep in mind this is being written at a time when brawl is still not available in europe and most of the world).
Upon discovery of SWF and an upcoming tournament known as TKI (the Kone Invitational) Koop decided that competitive play was a goal he sought. Without meeting anyone previously from the community, he traveled across the country to stay with Kone and GAwes before the tournament. He was inducted into SDB in less than 6 hours by a unanimous vote from Kone, GAwes, Owlie, and Percy. Koop has a fairly balanced playstyle and uses switches between shield aggression and running turtling to intimidate opponents. His progression moved quickly and in 2 days he went from never playing a tournament standard match to garnishing 3rd place in a major UK brawl tournament, out-placing several members of the previous top-10 ranking melee community. Koop's goals are set high but only time will tell if he can hold his UK top 3 placement.

- Koop is highly regarded as the UK's best King Dedede player.
- Although quite arrogant in the matter, Sam is a waste of time in Mariokart Wii.
- At some point, Sam may inform you of his skill and/or passion for snowboarding. This, however, is only a cover up of his true passion, which is indeed basket weaving. Sam is a champion basket weaver and as of last year was ranked 3rd overall in the UK and Number 1 in the European Male Only Division for Christmas and Easter Basket Weaving.
- Sam bears an uncanny resemblance to Smallville Actor Tom Welling as shown in this picture
